Termites!

In this month's blog, I wanted to talk about termites. Termites are a real issue that cause millions of dollars worth of damage every year. So what can be done?

The most important thing at first is to find and identify them - which is very difficult to do. Termites often do their damage well out of site, as a safety mechanism against predators. So look for mud tubes at first. Mud tubes are what most species of termites use to travel.

If you do find their damage, most people mistake it for carpenter ant damage. But termite tunnels usually have "frass" packed into their tunnels, whereas carpenter ants keep their tunnels very clean. See the picture below for an example of what termite damage looks like. Questions? Contact me!

One of the main reasons termites are tough to deal with is that they package be recognized until they have done considerable damage and set up large colonies. And you're right." Prevention is always better than Cure" If you do self-infection and control you and you don't have an idea on how to do it, it's better to ask or find an expert to do it for you. I appreciate this blog is informative!
